Systems and methods to adjust a sounding reference signal timing offset

A user equipment (UE) comprising:

• a first subscriber identity module (SIM) associated with a first service provider subscription and a second SIM associated with a second service provider subscription;
• a modem configured to interface with a base station;
• one or more memories;
• and
• one or more processors configured to interface with the modem and to access the first SIM and the second SIM, wherein the one or more processors are coupled to the one or more memories, the one or more memories storing instructions executable by the one or more processors, individually or in any combination, to cause the UE to:
• operate in a Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) mode in which the first SIM is in an active-mode and the second SIM is in an idle mode;
• transmit, while operating in the DSDS mode, a sounding reference signal (SRS) from a communication port of the UE, wherein the SRS has a timing offset assigned by a network associated with the first SIM;
• perform, while operating in the DSDS mode, signal measurement with respect to a signal received from a network associated with the second SIM;
• determine an offset adjustment to avoid a collision between the SRS and the signal measurement, wherein determining the offset adjustment comprises determining that an occurrence of the SRS falls within a tune away period of radio frequency (RF) hardware shared by the first SIM and the second SIM;
• send, while operating in the DSDS mode, a request to the network associated with the first SIM to adjust the timing offset according to the offset adjustment to avoid the collision between the SRS and the signal measurement;
• and
• receive, in response to the request to adjust the timing offset, an offset change configuration from the network associated with the first SIM.
