Control circuitry identifies, on the video-hosting website, video content items that include at least a portion of a media program. The media program has a media program identifier and the video content items have respective titles, each including one or more terms. The control circuitry identifies a term included in more than one of the titles and identifies a group of the video content items that have the term included in their title. Based on the video-hosting website, the control circuitry determines a cumulative number of rankings of the video content items within the group and generates a relevance score for the term based on the cumulative number of rankings. The control circuitry stores the term and the relevance score in a keyword database in association with the media program identifier. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A method comprising: receiving a keyword as part of a search query for a media program item, wherein at least a portion of the video content item is hosted on a video-hosting website and the received keyword is not part of a title of the video content item; determining that a first media program identifier and a second media program identifier associated with the keyword is stored in the database; and in response to the determination: determining a relevance score of a media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier, wherein the relevance score of the media program item is based on a number of views of the media program item; displaying the first media program identifier and a second media program identifier in an order of the relevance score of their related media program item; and excluding the first or the second media program identifier from being associated with the media program item if its relevance score that is based on a combination of a cumulative number of positive and negative rankings and number of views of the media program item is determined to be below a threshold. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the order of relevance is highest relevance score to lowest relevance score. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the received keyword is associated with a scene of the media program item. ### Claim 4 (depends on 3) The method of claim 3, wherein the scene is designated as notable or memorable scene. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising, determining the relevance score both on a) a number of media program items within a group and b) the number of views of the media program item items within the group. ### Claim 6 (depends on 5) The method of claim 5, wherein the relevance score is a combination of cumulative number of positive and negative rankings, the number of views of the media program item, and the number of media program items within a group. ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising, displaying a thumbnail image representative of the media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier. ### Claim 8 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising, displaying metadata associated with the media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier. ### Claim 9 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising, determining a cumulative number of rankings of the media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier, wherein the cumulative ranking includes a positive cumulative ranking, which is associated with a like selection from a user that has viewed the media program item, and a negative cumulative ranking, which is associated with a dislike selection from the user that has viewed the media program item. ### Claim 10 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising, generating a list of associations between keywords and their corresponding media programs; and using the list to determine whether the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier are associated with the received keyword. ### Claim 11 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising: determining a relevance score for received keyword as part of the search query for a media program item; and using the determined relevance score for received keyword as an indicator of a degree of relevance between the received keyword and the media program item. ### Claim 12 A system comprising: communications circuitry configured to communicate with a video-hosting website that hosts a plurality of media program items; and control circuitry configured to: receive a keyword as part of a search query for a media program item, from the hosted plurality of media program items, wherein at least a portion of the video content item is hosted on a video-hosting website and the received keyword is not part of a title of the video content item; determine that a first media program identifier and a second media program identifier associated with the keyword is stored in the database; and in response to the determination: determine a relevance score of a media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier, wherein the relevance score of the media program item is based on a number of views of the media program item; display the first media program identifier and a second media program identifier in an order of the relevance score of their related media program item; and exclude the first or the second media program identifier from being associated with the media program item if its relevance score that is based on a cumulative number of positive and negative rankings and the number of views of the media program item is determined to be below a threshold. ### Claim 13 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, wherein the order of relevance is determined by the control circuitry from highest relevance score to lowest relevance score. ### Claim 14 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, wherein the received keyword is associated with a scene of the media program item. ### Claim 15 (depends on 14) The system of claim 14, wherein the scene is designated by the control circuitry as notable or memorable scene. ### Claim 16 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, further comprising, the control circuitry configured to determine the relevance score both on a) a number of media program items within a group and b) the number of views of the media program item items within the group. ### Claim 17 (depends on 16) The system of claim 16, wherein the relevance score is a combination of cumulative number of positive and negative rankings, the number of views of the media program item, and the number of media program items within a group. ### Claim 18 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, further comprising, the control circuitry configured to display a thumbnail image representative of the media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier. ### Claim 19 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, further comprising, the control circuitry configured to display metadata associated with the media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier. ### Claim 20 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, further comprising, the control circuitry configured to determine a cumulative number of rankings of the media program item related to the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier, wherein the cumulative ranking includes a positive cumulative ranking, which is associated with a like selection from a user that has viewed the media program item, and a negative cumulative ranking, which is associated with a dislike selection from the user that has viewed the media program item. ### Claim 21 (depends on 12) The system of claim 12, further comprising, the control circuitry configured to generate a list of associations between keywords and their corresponding media programs; and using the list to determine whether the first media program identifier and the second media program identifier are associated with the received keyword.
