Abstract
A concrete mixer vehicle includes a mixer drum, a chute, and a controller. The mixer drum has an inner volume configured to hold a mixture for transportation and placement. The chute is configured to receive mixture exiting the mixer drum and direct the mixture. The controller is configured to receive a selected mode of operation of the mixer drum and the chute. The selected mode of operation is selected from a set of multiple modes of operation of the mixer drum and the chute. The controller is configured to adjust an operation of at least one of the mixer drum or the chute to cause at least one of the mixer drum or the chute to operate according to the selected mode of operation.
Claims20
A control system for a mixer vehicle comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to:
- obtain a selection of a mode out of a plurality of different modes of operation, the plurality of different modes of operation comprising an add water mode, and at least one of a spreader mode, an admixture mode, a smooth mode, a wet load mode, an aggressive mode, an empty load mode, or a dry mode;
- and
- control operation of a mixer drum and a chute of the mixer vehicle according to the selected mode;
- wherein controlling operation of the mixer drum and the chute according to the add water mode comprises:
- driving the mixer drum at an add water speed;
- counting a number of revolutions of the mixer drum since a time at which the mixer vehicle was transitioned into the add water mode;
- and
- transitioning the mixer vehicle out of the add water mode in response to the number of revolutions reaching or exceeding a threshold amount.
A control system for a mixer vehicle comprising:

- and
- control operation of a mixer drum and a chute of the mixer vehicle according to the selected mode;
- wherein controlling operation the mixer drum and the chute according to the admixture mode comprises operating the mixer drum to rotate at an admixture speed for a predetermined number of revolutions to mix an admixture;
- and
- wherein controlling operation of the mixer drum and the chute according to the smooth mode comprises operating the mixer drum to drive at a speed less than the admixture speed.
