## Abstract

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device having a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations including facilitating activation of a first module for a wireless system; integrating the first module into the wireless system; checking for errors during the integration of the first module in the wireless system; responsive to a determination that the integrating of the first module is error free, placing the wireless system in an operational state; and receiving an operational error code from an originating module. Other embodiments are disclosed.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A device, comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and
a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
facilitating activation of a first module in a wireless networking system, wherein the first module is a software-based module that fulfills network specific functions;
integrating the first module into the wireless networking system;
checking for errors during the integration of the first module in the wireless networking system;
responsive to a determination that the integrating of the first module is error free,
placing the wireless networking system in an operational state; and
receiving an operational error code from an originating module that is part of the first module in the wireless networking system, wherein the operational error code provides a format indicating a hierarchy of the first module in the wireless networking system, wherein the wireless networking system conforms to the Operator Defined Open and Intelligent Radio Access Networks (O-RAN) standard, and wherein the format specifies the first module, a sub-module for one of user plane or control plane of the first module, a first interface of the originating module, and a second interface of a receiving module that is part of the first module.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the receiving module performs functions of a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP).

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The device of claim 2, wherein the originating module performs functions of a Service Data Application Protocol (SDAP).

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The device of claim 3, wherein the operational error code specifies an error number identifying a problem.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the operations further comprise facilitating deactivation of the first module responsive to a second determination that the integrating of the first module is not error free.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the operations further comprise facilitating corrective action responsive to receiving the operational error code.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the processing system comprises a plurality of processors operating in a distributed computing environment.

### Claim 8

A non-transitory, machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, performs operations comprising:
facilitating a selection of a first module to integrate into a wireless networking system;
integrating the first module into the wireless networking system;
checking for errors during the integrating of the first module in the wireless networking system;
responsive to a determination that the integration of the first module is error free, placing the wireless networking system in an operational state; and
receiving an operational error code from an originating module that is part of the first module in the wireless networking system, wherein the operational error code provides a format indicating a hierarchy of the first module in the wireless networking system, wherein the wireless networking system conforms to the Operator Defined Open and Intelligent Radio Access Networks (O-RAN) standard, and wherein the format specifies the first module, a sub-module for one of user plane or control plane of the first module, a first interface of the originating module, and a second interface of a receiving module that is part of the first module.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the originating module performs functions of a Service Data Application Protocol (SDAP).

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the receiving module performs functions of a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP).

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the first module is connected to a RAN Intelligent Controller.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 11, wherein the first module is connected to a ORAN Distributed Unit (O-DU).

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 12, wherein the operational error code specifies an error number identifying a problem.

### Claim 14 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise facilitating deactivation of the first module responsive to a second determination that the integrating of the first module is not error free.

### Claim 15 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory, machine-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the operations further comprise facilitating corrective action responsive to receiving the operational error code.

### Claim 16 (depends on 8)
