## Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to optical systems with ergonomic presentation of content for use in head-worn computing systems. A method for controlling a head-worn computer when viewing virtual images, including image content, that encourages an ergonomic head position to reduce neck pain, includes determining an angle of the head-worn computer relative to horizontal, determining an angle of a line of sight to the center of the virtual image as presented to a user's eye, determining a deviation between the determined angle of the line of sight and a predetermined ergonomic angle, and shifting the image content of the virtual image vertically as displayed to the user's eye so that a portion of the image content is not viewable, wherein the amount of shifting is in reverse correspondence to the magnitude of the determined deviation.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of presenting content to a user of a wearable head device, the method comprising:
receiving initial content for presentation via a display of the wearable head device;
determining, via one or more first sensors of the wearable head device, an activity of the user;
in accordance with a determination that the activity comprises a first activity:
determining, via one or more second sensors of the wearable head device, a viewing axis of the user;
determining whether an angle between the viewing axis and a horizontal axis is between a first predetermined angle and a second predetermined angle;
in accordance with a determination that the angle is not between the first predetermined angle and the second predetermined angle:
cropping the initial content to produce cropped initial content, wherein the cropped initial content comprises a portion of the initial content between the viewing axis and the horizontal axis;
shifting the cropped initial content toward a point between the viewing axis and the horizontal axis to generate an edited content; and
presenting, via the display, the edited content; and
in accordance with a determination that the angle between the viewing axis and the horizontal axis is between the first predetermined angle and the second predetermined angle, presenting, via the display, the initial content; and
in accordance with a determination that the activity does not comprise the first activity, presenting, via the display, the initial content.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first activity comprises a movement at a speed not greater than a threshold speed.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the first activity comprises the movement at the speed not greater than the threshold speed for at least a threshold amount of time.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the determination that the activity does not comprise the first activity comprises determining that the activity comprises a movement at a speed greater than a threshold speed.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the determination that the activity does not comprise the first activity comprises determining that the activity comprises traveling in a vehicle, walking, running, laying down, interacting with a mixed reality environment of the wearable head device, or any combination thereof.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein:
the first predetermined angle is 10 degrees below the horizontal axis, and
the second predetermined angle is 20 degrees below the horizontal axis.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the generating the edited content comprises fixing the cropped initial content relative to a vertical axis.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first predetermined angle and the second predetermined angle are determined based on a plane of the initial content.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the shifting the cropped initial content comprises aligning a top of the cropped initial content with the horizontal axis.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the presenting the edited content to the user comprises presenting the edited content along a plane orthogonal to the viewing axis.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the determining the viewing axis comprises:
receiving, via the one or more second sensors, an image of an eye of the user; and
determining the viewing axis based on the image.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the determining the viewing axis comprises determining an orientation of the wearable head device relative to the user, and wherein the viewing axis is determined based on the orientation.
