Abstract
Lithium silicate materials are described which can be easily processed by machining to dental products without undue wear of the tools and which subsequently can be converted into lithium silicate products showing high strength.
Claims5
A lithium silicate glass ceramic for dental restorations, wherein the lithium silicate glass ceramic comprises:
- SiO2 from 64 to 75 wt %;
- and
- a main crystalline phase of lithium metasilicate;
- wherein the glass ceramic is suitable to be subjected to a heat treatment to convert the main crystalline phase from lithium metasilicate to lithium disilicate and the glass ceramic has a biaxial flexural strength of between 450-820 MPa.
