## Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a communication technique for converging an IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system, and a system therefor. The present disclosure may be applied to an intelligent service (for example, a smart home, a smart building, a smart city, a smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail business, a security and safety related service, or the like) on the basis of a 5G communication technology and an IoT related technology. The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and, specifically, to a method and apparatus for decoding a downlink control signal.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
identifying a plurality of search spaces for the terminal including a common search space (CSS) and a user equipment specific search space (USS);
identifying that control channel elements (CCEs) associated with the CSS and CCEs associated with the USS are same;
decoding only a downlink control information (DCI) format associated with the CSS, in case that the DCI format associated with the CSS and a DCI format associated with the USS are same and the CCEs associated with the CSS and the CCEs associated with the USS are same; and
transmitting, to a base station, a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) based on the decoded DCI format associated with the CSS.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the USS is not monitored, in case that the CCEs associated with the CSS and the CCEs associated with the USS are same.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving, from the base station, information indicating that an advanced processing time is configured for the terminal,
wherein the PUSCH is transmitted to the base station in a transmission timing identified based on the advanced processing time, and
wherein a processing time according to the advanced processing time is shorter than a processing time without the advanced processing time.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the DCI format associated with the CSS and the DCI format associated with the USS are for scheduling the PUSCH.

### Claim 5

A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
identifying a plurality of search spaces configured for a terminal including a common search space (CSS) and a user equipment specific search space (USS); and
identifying that control channel elements (CCEs) associated with the CSS and CCEs associated with the USS are same;
transmitting, to the terminal, downlink control information (DCI) on a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in the same CCEs of the CSS and the USS; and
receiving, from the terminal, a physical uplink share channel (PUSCH) based on the DCI,
wherein in case that a format of the DCI is both a DCI format associated with the CSS and a DCI format associated with the USS and the CCEs associated with the CSS and the CCEs associated with the USS are same, only the DCI format associated with the CSS is decoded.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, wherein the DCI is not transmitted on the USS, in case that the CCEs associated with the CSS and the CCEs associated with the USS are same.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, further comprising transmitting, to the terminal, information indicating that an advanced processing time is configured for the terminal,
wherein the PUSCH is received from the terminal in a transmission timing identified based on the advanced processing time, and
wherein a processing time according to the advanced processing time is shorter than a processing time without the advanced processing time.

### Claim 8 (depends on 5)

The method of claim 5, wherein the DCI format associated with the CSS and the DCI format associated with the USS are for scheduling the PUSCH.

### Claim 9

A terminal in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:
a transceiver configured to transmit or receive a signal; and
at least one processor configured to:
identify a plurality of search spaces for the terminal including a common search space (CSS) and a user equipment specific search space (USS),
identify that control channel elements (CCEs) associated with the first CSS and CCEs associated with the USS are same,
decode only a downlink control information (DCI) format associated with the CSS, in case that the DCI format associated with the CSS and a DCI format associated with the USS are same and the CCEs associated with the CSS and the CCEs associated with the USS are same, and
transmit, to a base station, a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) based on the decoded DCI format associated with the CSS.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The terminal of claim 9, wherein the USS is not monitored, in case that the CCEs associated with the CSS and the CCEs associated with the USS are same.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

The terminal of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to receive, from the base station, information indicating that an advanced processing time is configured for the terminal,
wherein the PUSCH is transmitted to the base station in a transmission timing identified based on the advanced processing time, and
