## Abstract

Methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and verifier and/or prover devices or query verification apparatuses are disclosed that generate a first commitment from received data and send the received data to a prover device for insertion into a table of a database. A query result and an overall proof are received from the prover device in response to a received query forwarded to the prover device and associated with the database table. The overall proof is generated from one or more partial proofs comprising one or more commitments generated from one or more intermediate values. The query result and an indication the query result was verified are returned in response to the received query after verifying the query result based on a second commitment to the query result generated using the first commitment and the overall proof.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A system, comprising one or more verifier devices comprising memory comprising programmed instructions stored thereon and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the stored programmed instructions to:
generate a first commitment from data to be stored in a database;
receive a query result and an overall proof from one or more prover devices in response to a received query associated with the database; and
return the query result in response to the received query after verifying the query result based on the first commitment and the overall proof.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the overall proof comprises the query result.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the received query is received from a gateway, an intermediary, or a client.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The system of claim 3, wherein the query result is returned to the gateways, the intermediary, or the client from which the received query is received.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to execute the programmed instructions to update the first commitment following receipt of additional data to be stored in the database.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more prover devices are external to a blockchain network hosting the database and the database comprises a blockchain database.

### Claim 7

A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions comprising executable code that, when executed by one or more processors of a verifier device, causes the one or more processors to:
generate a first commitment from data to be stored in a database;
receive a query result and an overall proof from one or more prover devices in response to a received query associated with the database; and
return the query result in response to the received query after verifying the query result based on the first commitment and the overall proof.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7, wherein the overall proof comprises the query result.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7, wherein the received query is received from a gateway, an intermediary, or a client.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9, wherein the query result is returned to the gateways, the intermediary, or the client from which the received query is received.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7, wherein the executable code, when executed by the one or more processors, further causes the one or more processors to update the first commitment following receipt of additional data to be stored in the database.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7, wherein the one or more prover devices are external to a blockchain network hosting the database and the database comprises a blockchain database.

### Claim 13

A method implemented by verifier device, the method comprising:
generating a first commitment from data to be stored in a database;
receiving a query result and an overall proof from one or more prover devices in response to a received query associated with the database; and
returning the query result in response to the received query after verifying the query result based on the first commitment and the overall proof.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the overall proof comprises the query result.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the received query is received from a gateway, an intermediary, or a client.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The method of claim 15, wherein the query result is returned to the gateways, the intermediary, or the client from which the received query is received.

### Claim 17 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, further comprising updating the first commitment following receipt of additional data to be stored in the database.

### Claim 18 (depends on 13)

The method of claim 13, wherein the one or more prover devices are external to a blockchain network hosting the database and the database comprises a blockchain database.
