Abstract
The present disclosure relates to compounds and compositions that inhibit the NLRP3 inflammasome, for example, a compound according to formula I wherein R1 is C1-4 alkyl; and R2 is H or C1-4 alkyl, provided that when R2 is H. R1 is not CH3. Also disclosed are methods for treating multiple sclerosis using the compounds and compositions.

A method of treating a condition selected from Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis comprising administering to a subject having said condition a compound having a structure selected from:

A method of treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, comprising administering to a subject having amyotrophic lateral sclerosis a compound having a structure selected from:
