Compostable lid intended to seal a capsule and a capsule sealed by the lid

A compostable lid sealed to a beverage capsule, the lid composed of a multilayer complex successively comprising:

• a non-woven material comprising fibers, of which at least 50% by weight of the fibers are composed of biodegradable fibers;
• an adhesive layer suitable for coming into contact with food;
• and
• a support layer having a wet burst strength measured according to ISO 3689 and a dry burst strength measured according to ISO 2758, and wherein the ratio of the wet burst strength to the dry burst strength is between 50 to 70 percent.
