Abstract
The invention relates to a glenoid (shoulder socket) implant prosthesis, a humeral implant prosthesis, devices for implanting glenoid and humeral implant prostheses, and less invasive methods of their use for the treatment of an injured or damaged shoulder.
Claims7
A glenoid implant, comprising:
- a circular body, having a medial surface, an articulating surface, a peripheral edge, and a central axis, a wall that extends axially from the peripheral edge along a circumference of the circular body, the wall having a circular cross section;
- a post on the medial surface, disposed concentrically on the central axis;
- at least one axially extending flange extending from the medial surface;
- and
- at least one radially inwardly extending annular channel on the circular body that extends radially inward from the wall of the circular body.

- and
- a first thickness measured in the axial direction at a first point on the peripheral edge, and a second thickness measured in the axial direction at a second point on the peripheral edge spaced apart from the first point by 180 degrees;
- wherein the first thickness is at least about 125% of the second thickness.
