Abstract
An 8-(4-bromobenzylideneamino)naphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antioxidant agent.
Claims4
A method of making 8-(4-bromobenzylideneamino)naphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid compound having the formula I:
- the method comprising:
- mixing 8-aminonaphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid, 4-bromobenzaldehyde, and triethylamine (TEA) in ethanol to obtain solution;
- irradiating the solution at 50° C., followed by cooling to room temperature to obtain a formed precipitate;
- purifying the formed precipitate by filtering and recrystallization using ethanol;
- and
- obtaining the 8-(4-bromobenzylideneamino)naphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid compound.
