Abstract
An acoustic droplet ejection apparatus comprises an acoustic actuator and a fluid well having abase and at least one side wall. The actuator is arranged to couple acoustic energy into the fluid well through the side wall.
Claims19
An acoustic droplet ejection apparatus for ejecting droplets, the apparatus comprising:
- an acoustic actuator;
- and
- a fluid well having a base and at least one side wall,
- wherein the actuator is arranged to couple acoustic energy into the fluid well through the side wall,
- wherein adjusting a position of the actuator relative to a surface of a fluid contained in the fluid well adjusts a size of a focal point of the actuator to thereby adjust a droplet size.
