Systems and methods for facilitating logistics

A locking assembly comprising:

• a carrier defining an internal compartment;
• an elongated cable comprising a core and a cover, the cover coaxially surrounding the core, the elongated cable extending from a proximal end to a distal end, the proximal end being disposed within the internal compartment, and a portion of the elongated cable extending outside of the internal compartment;
• a body disposed within the internal compartment, the body defining a proximal passage and a distal passage;
• a proximal end ferrule attached to the core adjacent to the proximal end;
• a distal end ferrule attached to the core adjacent to the distal end;
• a spring abutting the body adjacent to the proximal passage;
• and
• a magnet configured to produce a magnetic field;
• wherein
• a portion of the core adjacent to the proximal end extends sequentially through the proximal passage, through the spring and into the proximal end ferrule;
• the magnet is configured to move in response to the elongated cable being cut;
• and
• the carrier is formed of a non-ferrous material such that a position of the magnetic field can be detected from outside of the carrier.
