Abstract
A combustion chamber has an inner wall defining an inner chamber. The inner wall is perforated to admit combustion air into the inner chamber. The combustion chamber has an outer wall defining an outer chamber. The outer wall is perforated to admit combustion air from a pressurized air plenum to the inner wall. The inner and outer wall are spaced apart such that air may flow between the inner and outer walls.
Claims11
A combustion chamber comprising:
- an inner wall defining an inner chamber, the inner wall being perforated to admit combustion air into the inner chamber;
- an outer wall defining an outer chamber contained in and surrounded by a pressured air plenum and extending upward beyond the inner wall to a top of the pressurized air plenum, the outer wall being perforated with a plurality of openings to admit combustion air from a pressurized air plenum surrounding the outer wall to the inner wall;
- wherein the inner and outer wall are equidistantly spaced apart such that air may flow between the inner and outer walls;
- and
- wherein the inner chamber has an open top and receives solid fuel for combustion in the inner chamber from an auger traversing through the pressurized air plenum and discharging the solid fuel above the elevation of the inner wall but below the top of the pressurized air plenum.
