Abstract
An access and mobility management function receives, from a session management function, a request to set up a communication with a wireless device for transmitting downlink data. The access and mobility management function sends, based on the request, to the base station, a first paging message for a closed access group (CAG) wireless device that is allowed to access CAG cells. The first paging message indicates transitioning the CAG wireless device from an idle state to a connected state. The first paging message comprises a parameter indicating whether the wireless device is allowed to access non-CAG cells.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by an access and mobility management function from a session management function, a request to set up a communication with a wireless device for transmitting downlink data;
- and
- based on the request, sending, to a base station, a first paging message for a closed access group (CAG) wireless device that is allowed to access CAG cells, wherein the first paging message indicates:
- transitioning the CAG wireless device from an idle state to a connected state;
- and
- whether the wireless device is allowed to access non-CAG cells.
An access and mobility management function comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the access and mobility management function to:
- receive, from a session management function, a request to set up a communication with a wireless device for transmitting downlink data;
- and
- send, to a base station based on the request, a first paging message for a closed access group (CAG) wireless device that is allowed to access CAG cells, wherein the first paging message indicates:
- transitioning the CAG wireless device from an idle state to a connected state;
- and
- whether the wireless device is allowed to access non-CAG cells.
An access and mobility management function comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the access and mobility management function to:
- receive, from a base station, a message;
- and
- send, to the base station based on the message, a first paging message for a closed access group (CAG) wireless device that is allowed to access CAG cells, wherein the first paging message indicates:
- transitioning the CAG wireless device from an idle state to a connected state;
- and
- whether the wireless device is allowed to access non-CAG cells.
