Abstract
Methods and apparatuses are provided for access control barring. The method is applied to a terminal in a connected state or an inactive state. The method includes: starting a designated timer for access control barring; receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection release message sent by a base station when the designated timer has not reached a designated stop time; and determining based on the RRC connection release message that an Access Stratum (AS) of the terminal remains in a congested state.

A method for access control barring, the method comprising:
- starting, by a terminal in a connected state or an inactive state, a designated timer for access control barring;
- receiving, by the terminal, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection release message sent by a base station when the designated timer has not reached a designated stop time;
- and
- determining, by the terminal, based on the RRC connection release message that an Access Stratum (AS) of the terminal remains in a congested state.
An apparatus for access control barring, the apparatus is applied in a terminal in a connected state or an inactive state, and the apparatus comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory for storing instructions executable by the processor,
- wherein the processor is configured to:
- start a designated timer for access control barring;
- receive a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection release message sent by a base station when the designated timer has not reached a designated stop time;
- and
- determine based on the RRC connection release message that an Access Stratum (AS) of the terminal remains in a congested state.
