Method for transmitting and receiving AoD information and device therefor

A device for reporting angle of departure (AoD) information in a wireless communication system, the device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory operably connected to the at least one processor and configured to store instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
• transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), a plurality of reference signals;
• receiving, from the UE, the AoD information including information related to at least one reference signal among the plurality of reference signals, wherein the at least one reference signal is obtained based on received signal strengths of the UE;
• and
• reporting, to a location server, the AoD information,
• wherein the plurality of reference signals associated with different beams are a plurality of synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) blocks or a plurality of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs),
• wherein the AoD information includes identification information of K reference signals with highest received signal strengths among the plurality of reference signals in descending order of the received signal strengths,
• wherein the AoD information does not include received signal strength values of the K reference signals, and wherein K is an integer greater than 1.

A base station for reporting angle of departure (AoD) information in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory operably connected to the at least one processor and configured to store instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
• transmitting, via the at least one transceiver to a user equipment (UE), a plurality of reference signals;
• receiving, via the at least one transceiver from the UE, the AoD information including information related to at least one reference signal among the plurality of reference signals, wherein the at least one reference signal is obtained based on received signal strengths of the UE;
• and
• reporting, via the at least one transceiver to a location server, the AoD information,
• wherein the plurality of reference signals associated with different beams are a plurality of synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) blocks or a plurality of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs),
• wherein the AoD information includes identification information of K reference signals with highest received signal strengths among the plurality of reference signals in descending order of the received signal strengths,
• wherein the AoD information does not include received signal strength values of the K reference signals, and wherein K is an integer greater than 1.
