Detection of a rerouting of a communication channel of a telecommunication device connected to an NFC circuit

A near field communication (NFC) router, comprising:

• a memory;
• a plurality of gates;
• and
• processing circuitry coupled to the memory and the plurality of gates, wherein the processing circuitry, in operation:
• configures a plurality of communication pipes between gates of the NFC router, the plurality of communication pipes including a set of communication pipes to implement NFC transactions, pipes of the set of communication pipes being coupled between radio-frequency gates of the NFC router and physical gates of the NFC router assigned to a security circuit;
• and
• detects an attempt to use a pipe, other than one of the set of communication pipes, to implement an NFC transaction, the detecting including:
• in response to receiving a message in a NFC communication format via a pipe of the plurality of pipes, comparing bits associated with the pipe with bits stored in the memory and associated with the set of communication pipes;
• and
• in response to the comparing indicating the pipe is not one of the set of communication pipes, blocking implementation of the NFC transaction.

A telecommunication device, comprising:

• an application processor;
• a security circuit;
• and
• an near field communication (NFC) router having one or more radio-frequency gates, one or more physical gates coupled to the security circuit, and one or more physical gates coupled to the application processor, wherein:
• the NFC router, in operation, configures a plurality of communication pipes between gates of the NFC router, the plurality of communication pipes including a set of communication pipes to implement NFC transactions, pipes of the set of communication pipes being coupled between radio-frequency gates of the NFC router and physical gates of the NFC router coupled to the security circuit;
• and
• the security circuit, in operation, detects an attempt to use a pipe, other than one of the set of communication pipes, to implement an NFC transaction, the detecting including:
• in response to receiving a message in a NFC communication format via a pipe of the plurality of pipes, comparing bits associated with the pipe with stored bits associated with the set of communication pipes;
• and
• in response to the comparing indicating the pipe is not one of the set of communication pipes, blocking implementation of the NFC transaction.
