Resource orchestration brokerage for internet-of-things networks

A processing device, wherein the processing device comprises circuitry to:

• receive, over a network, sensor data captured by a plurality of Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensor devices, wherein the sensor data is indicative of an external environment detected by the IoT sensor devices;
• receive, over the network, context information associated with a set of edge devices, wherein each edge device in the set comprises one or more compute resources, and wherein the context information indicates:
• a type of the one or more compute resources;
• and
• a current resource utilization of the one or more compute resources;
• determine, based on the sensor data and the context information, workload assignments for at least a subset of edge devices from the set of edge devices, wherein the workload assignments assign processing of the sensor data across the subset of edge devices;
• and
• transmit, over the network, the sensor data to the subset of edge devices based on the workload assignments, wherein each edge device in the subset is to process a portion of the sensor data based on the workload assignments.

A system, comprising:

• network interface circuitry to communicate over a network;
• and
• processing circuitry to:
• receive, via the network interface circuitry, sensor data captured by a plurality of Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensor devices, wherein the sensor data is indicative of an external environment detected by the IoT sensor devices;
• receive, via the network interface circuitry, context information associated with a set of edge devices, wherein each edge device in the set comprises one or more compute resources, and wherein the context information indicates:
• a type of the one or more compute resources;
• and
• a current resource utilization of the one or more compute resources;
• determine, based on the sensor data and the context information, workload assignments for at least a subset of edge devices from the set of edge devices, wherein the workload assignments assign processing of the sensor data across the subset of edge devices;
• and
• transmit, via the network interface circuitry, the sensor data to the subset of edge devices based on the workload assignments, wherein each edge device in the subset is to process a portion of the sensor data based on the workload assignments.

A method, comprising:

• receiving, via a communications network, sensor data captured by a plurality of Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensor devices, wherein the sensor data is indicative of an external environment detected by the IoT sensor devices;
• receiving, via the communications network, context information associated with a set of edge devices, wherein each edge device in the set comprises one or more compute resources, and wherein the context information indicates:
• a type of the one or more compute resources;
• and
• a current resource utilization of the one or more compute resources;
• determining, based on the sensor data and the context information, workload assignments for at least a subset of edge devices from the set of edge devices, wherein the workload assignments assign processing of the sensor data across the subset of edge devices;
• and
• transmitting, via the communications network, the sensor data to the subset of edge devices based on the workload assignments, wherein each edge device in the subset is to process a portion of the sensor data based on the workload assignments.
