Abstract
A network node including a processor coupled to a memory. The processor is configured to receive instructions from the memory which, when executed by the processor, cause the network node to receive a path computation request, calculate a first path from a first ingress node to an egress node, calculate a second path from a second ingress node to a destination node, transmit a first message comprising the first path to the first ingress node, and transmit a second message comprising the second path to the second ingress node.
Claims20
A network node, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory, the processor configured to receive instructions from the memory which, when executed by the processor, cause the network node to:
- receive a path computation request;
- calculate a first path from a first ingress node to an egress node, wherein the first ingress node comprises an edge node;
- calculate a second path from a second ingress node to a destination node, wherein the second ingress node comprises an edge node;
- transmit a first message comprising the first path to the first ingress node;
- and
- transmit, for ingress protection, a second message comprising the second path to only the second ingress node.
A method for source routing ingress protection by a path computation element (PCE), the method comprising:
- receiving a path computation request;
- calculating a first path from a first ingress node to an egress node, wherein the first ingress node comprises an edge node;
- calculating a second path from a second ingress node to a destination node, wherein the second ingress node comprises an edge node;
- transmitting a first message comprising the first path to the first ingress node;
- and
- transmitting a second message, for ingress protection, comprising the second path to only the second ingress node.
A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- receive a path computation request;
- calculate a first path from a first ingress node to an egress node, wherein the first ingress node comprises an edge node;
- calculate a second path from a second ingress node to a destination node, wherein the second ingress node comprises an edge node;
- transmit a first message comprising the first path to the first ingress node;
- and
- transmit a second message, for ingress protection, comprising the second path to only the second ingress node.
