Abstract
Techniques are disclosed for integrated booking of rooms and media resources, such as display devices. An example methodology implementing the techniques includes responsive to an activation of an access Uniform Resource Locator (URL) on a computing device, receiving information associated with a booking of a room and a display device, generating a token for accessing the display device and providing to the computing device the token and an address of the display device. The method also includes, responsive to receiving the token from the display device, authenticating the token and, responsive to authenticating the token, allowing use of the display device.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- responsive to an activation of an access Uniform Resource Locator (URL) on a computing device:
- receiving, by a booking system, information associated with a booking of a room and a display device;
- and
- providing to the computing device a token for accessing the display device and an address of the display device in response to the activation of the access URL;
- and
- responsive to receiving, by the booking system, the token from the display device, allowing use of the display device upon authenticating the token.
A method comprising:
- responsive to an activation of an access Uniform Resource Locator (URL) on a first computing device, receiving, by the first computing device, a file including a token for accessing a display device and an address of the display device;
- responsive to opening of the file on a second computing device, sending, by the second computing device, a cast request and the token to the display device;
- and
- responsive to receiving, by the second computing device, a response from the display device indicating that screen casting is allowed, activating a screen cast feature on the second computing device, wherein the response indicating that screen casting is allowed is received responsive to authentication of the token by the display device.
A computing device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a non-volatile memory storing computer program code that when executed on the processor causes the processor to execute a process operable to:
- responsive to an activation of an access Uniform Resource Locator (URL), receive a file including a token for accessing a display device and an address of the display device;
- responsive to opening of the file, send a cast request and the token to the display device;
- and
- responsive to receipt of a response from the display device indicating that screen casting is allowed, activate a screen cast feature on the computing device, wherein the response indicating that screen casting is allowed is received responsive to authentication of the token by the display device.
