Doppler shift estimate reporting with pre-compensation

A non-transitory computer-readable memory medium comprising program instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause a first base station to:

• transmit a configuration message to a device, wherein the configuration message instructs the device to perform one or more first Doppler measurements on the first base station and specifies one or more parameters of a Doppler measurement report;
• receive the Doppler measurement report from the device, wherein the Doppler measurement report is based on the one or more parameters and results of the one or more first Doppler measurements;
• and
• transmit communications to the device with Doppler pre-compensation, wherein the Doppler pre-compensation is based on the Doppler measurement report.

A method, comprising:

• performing one or more first Doppler measurements on a first base station;
• transmitting the Doppler measurement report to the first base station, wherein the Doppler measurement report is based on the one or more first Doppler measurements;
• and
• receiving communications from the first base station, wherein the communications are Doppler pre-compensated by the first base station based on the Doppler measurement report.
