Abstract
According to an aspect of an embodiment, a method may include obtaining a first signal at a first port of a communication system. The first signal may include a combination of an incident signal and a reflected signal. The method may include performing a first processing to the first signal. In response to the first processing, the method may include performing a second processing to the first signal. The method may include estimating a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) associated with a transmission line from results of the second processing to the first signal.
Claims19
A method, comprising:
- obtaining a first signal at a first port of a communication system, the first signal including a combination of an incident signal and a reflected signal;
- performing a first processing to the first signal, wherein the first processing comprises normalizing the first signal;
- in response to the first processing, performing a second processing to the first signal;
- and
- estimating a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) associated with a transmission line from results of the second processing to the first signal.
A communication system, comprising:
- a transceiver configured to generate an incident signal;
- a load communicatively coupled to the transceiver and configured to receive the incident signal and generate a reflected signal;
- a first port disposed between the transceiver and the load, the first port configured to combine the incident signal and the reflected signal into a first signal;
- and
- a processing device configured to:
- obtain the first signal from the first port;
- perform a first processing to the first signal, wherein the first processing comprises normalizing the first signal;
- in response to the first processing, perform a second processing to the first signal;
- and
- estimate a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) associated with a transmission line from results of the second processing.
