Method for producing resin frame equipped membrane electrode assembly

A method for producing a resin frame equipped membrane electrode assembly, the method comprising:

• a first joining step of thermocompression-bonding a sheet-shaped member, including a first electrode and an electrolyte membrane with the first electrode provided on one surface thereof, to a resin frame member, formed as a frame-shaped resin sheet and having an opening and an adhesive layer provided on one surface of the resin frame member, so that an outer peripheral portion of the sheet-shaped member and an inner peripheral portion of the resin frame member on the one surface overlap each other and are joined together,
• wherein in the first joining step, a portion where an outer peripheral portion of the electrolyte membrane overlaps the inner peripheral portion of the resin frame member is clamped and thermocompression-bonded from above and below using frame-shaped molds, that conform to a shape of the outer peripheral portion of the first electrode, and that directly contact the sheet-shaped member and the inner peripheral portion of the resin frame member;
• and
• after the first joining step, a second joining step of thermocompression-bonding a second electrode to the resin frame member so that an outer peripheral portion of the second electrode and an inner peripheral portion of the resin frame member on another surface thereof overlap each other and are joined together,
• wherein in the resin frame equipped membrane electrode assembly, the inner peripheral portions of the resin frame member are arranged between the outer peripheral portion of the first electrode and the outer peripheral portion of the second electrode.
