Method and apparatus for SSD storage access

A computing system, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing programming, the programming including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing system to perform operations including:
• analyzing a data file using a classification code scheme to determine a classification code of the data file based on one or more characteristics of the data file;
• issuing a write command of the data file to write the data file in an erasable block of a plurality of erasable blocks in a solid state drive (SSD) of the computing system, the erasable block determined based on the classification code of the data file, wherein the erasable block stores a second data file, the second data file having a second obsolete time later than an obsolete time of the data file;
• and
• erasing the erasable block responsive to the second data file becoming obsolete, wherein the erasing is performed without copying any data in the erasable block to another erasable block.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• analyzing a data file using a classification code scheme to determine a classification code of the data file based on one or more characteristics of the data file;
• issuing a write command of the data file to write the data file in an erasable block of a plurality of erasable blocks in a solid state drive (SSD) of the computing system, the erasable block determined based on the classification code of the data file, wherein the erasable block stores a second data file, the second data file having a second obsolete time later than an obsolete time of the data file;
• and
• erasing, by the computing system, the erasable block responsive to the second data file becoming obsolete, wherein the erasing is performed without copying any data in the erasable block to another erasable block.
