Function evaluation of a system or portion thereof

A non-transitory computer readable memory comprises:

• a first memory section for storing operational instructions that, when executed by a computing entity of one or more computing entities of an analysis system, cause the computing entity to:
• determine a system sector of a system under test for function evaluation, wherein the system sector supports one or more functions, and wherein at least a portion of the analysis system is installed on the system under test for automatic data monitoring and extraction;
• determine at least one evaluation perspective for use in performing the function evaluation on the system sector;
• and
• determine at least one evaluation viewpoint for use in performing the function evaluation on the system sector;
• a second memory section for storing operational instructions that, when executed by the computing entity, cause the computing entity to:
• identify data extraction points of the system sector;
• establish a direct connection with the data extraction points;
• obtain function data regarding the system sector in accordance with the at least one evaluation perspective and the at least one evaluation viewpoint from the direct connection;
• and
• a third memory section for storing operational instructions that, when executed by the computing entity, cause the computing entity to:
• calculate a function evaluation rating as a measure of function maturity for the system sector based on the function data, the at least one evaluation perspective, the at least one evaluation viewpoint, and at least one evaluation rating metric.
