Abstract
Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for the see-through computer display systems with integrated IR eye imaging technologies.
Claims20
A wearable head device with an optical system, the optical system comprising:
- a display panel, the display panel including:
- a plurality of visible light emitters configured to project visible image light in a first direction toward an eye of a user of the wearable head device,
- a plurality of infrared emitters configured to project infrared light in the first direction toward the eye of the user, and
- a plurality of infrared receivers configured to receive a reflection of the infrared light from the eye of the user;
- wherein a first region of the display panel is configured to present the visible image light at first image resolution, the first region of the display panel comprising:
- a first set of infrared emitters of the plurality of infrared emitters, the first set of infrared emitters having a first density associated with the first image resolution;
- and
- a first set of visible light emitters of the plurality of visible light emitters, the first set of visible light emitters having a second density associated with the first image resolution,
- wherein a second region of the display panel is configured to present the visible image light at a second image resolution, the second region of the display panel comprising:
- a second set of visible light emitters of the plurality of visible light emitters, the second set of visible light emitters having a third density associated with the second image resolution.

An optical system comprising:
- optics comprising a display panel, the display panel comprising:
- a plurality of visible light emitters, the plurality of visible light emitters configured to project visible image light in a first direction;
- a plurality of infrared emitters, the plurality of infrared emitters configured to project infrared light in the first direction, and
- a plurality of infrared receivers, the plurality of infrared receivers configured to receive a reflection of infrared light from an eye of a user,
- wherein a first region of the display panel is configured to present the visible image light at first image resolution, the first region of the display panel comprising:
- a first set of infrared emitters of the plurality of infrared emitters, the first set of infrared emitters having a first density associated with the first image resolution;
- and
- a first set of visible light emitters of the plurality of visible light emitters, the first set of visible light emitters having a second density associated with the first image resolution,
- wherein a second region of the display panel is configured to present the visible image light at a second image resolution, the second region of the display panel comprising:
- a second set of visible light emitters of the plurality of visible light emitters, the second set of visible light emitters having a third density associated with the second image resolution.

A method comprising:
- projecting, by a display panel via a plurality of visible light emitters, visible image light toward an eye of a user of a wearable head device;
- projecting, by the display panel via a plurality of infrared emitters, infrared light toward the eye of the user;
- and
- receiving, at the display panel via a plurality of infrared receivers, a reflection of infrared light from the eye of the user,
- wherein a first region of the display panel is configured to present the visible image light at first image resolution, the first region of the display panel comprising:
- a first set of infrared emitters of the plurality of infrared emitters, the first set of infrared emitters having a first density associated with the first image resolution;
- and
- a first set of visible light emitters of the plurality of visible light emitters, the first set of visible light emitters having a second density associated with the first image resolution,
- wherein a second region of the display panel is configured to present the visible image light at a second image resolution, the second region of the display panel comprising:
- a second set of visible light emitters of the plurality of visible light emitters, the second set of visible light emitters having a third density associated with the second image resolution.
