Compact waste combustion system

A compact waste combustion system comprising:

• a burn chamber;
• a trapdoor mechanism comprising an inner trapdoor though which waste flows from a first chamber toward the burn chamber when the inner trapdoor is opened, wherein the inner trapdoor blocks the waste from flowing from the first chamber toward the burn chamber when the inner trapdoor is closed;
• a waste receptacle coupled to the first chamber through an outer trapdoor, wherein waste flows from the waste receptacle into the first chamber when the outer trapdoor is opened, wherein the outer trapdoor blocks the waste from flowing from the waste receptacle into the first chamber when the outer trapdoor is closed, and wherein the waste receptacle comprises a toilet bowl within a portable toilet;
• a plurality of sensors;
• a burner disposed at least partially within the burn chamber;
• and
• a processing circuit configured to control operation of the trapdoor mechanism and the burner in response to inputs received from the plurality of sensors, wherein the processing circuit is further configured to:
• initiate a first mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system when presence of a quantity of waste in the waste receptacle is detected by one of the plurality of sensors, wherein the outer trapdoor is opened when the first mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated;
• initiate a second mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system when the quantity of waste has flowed into the first chamber, wherein the outer trapdoor is closed and the inner trapdoor is opened when the second mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated.
• initiate a third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system after the quantity of waste has passed into the burn chamber, wherein the outer trapdoor is closed and the inner trapdoor is closed when the third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated;
• and
• activate the burner after the third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated,
• wherein the processing circuit is further configured to:
• initiate a bowl rinse cycle using a flow of water provided by a water bag.

A compact waste combustion system, comprising:

• a seat assembly that encloses a combustion chamber and a bowl;
• a trapdoor mechanism comprising an inner trapdoor though which waste flows from a first chamber toward the combustion chamber when the inner trapdoor is opened, wherein the inner trapdoor blocks the waste from flowing from the first chamber toward the combustion chamber when the inner trapdoor is closed;
• a waste receptacle coupled to the first chamber through an outer trapdoor, wherein the waste flows from the waste receptacle into the first chamber when the outer trapdoor is opened, and wherein the outer trapdoor blocks the waste from flowing from the waste receptacle into the first chamber when the outer trapdoor is closed;
• a burner disposed at least partially within the combustion chamber;
• a seat cover configured to seal the bowl during a burn cycle;
• and
• a processing circuit configured to:
• initiate a first mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system when a quantity of waste is present in the waste receptacle, wherein the outer trapdoor is opened when the first mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated;
• initiate a second mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system when the quantity of waste has flowed into the first chamber, wherein the outer trapdoor is closed and the inner trapdoor is opened when the second mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated;
• initiate a third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system after the quantity of waste has passed into the combustion chamber, wherein the outer trapdoor is closed and the inner trapdoor is closed when the third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated;
• and
• activate the burner after the third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system is initiated and after the seat cover is closed, wherein the burner is immediately deactivated if the seat cover is opened during the third mode of operation of the compact waste combustion system.
