Abstract
A fluid interconnect system including a mating component having an inlet port and a liquid outlet, the inlet port configured to support an interconnector and the liquid outlet configured to engage with a print cartridge so that liquid flows from a liquid source, through the interconnector and the inlet port, and out of the liquid outlet into the print cartridge.
Claims12
A printing system comprising:
- a print cartridge, comprising:
- a main body;
- a bladder disposed within the main body and comprising a fluid fill hole;
- and
- a fluid interconnect assembly, comprising:
- a mating component directly connected to the main body and comprising an inner channel;
- and
- a fluid interconnector releasably supported by the mating component at an exterior portion of the main body, the fluid interconnector comprising:
- a distal end portion comprising a tube configured to receive fluid from an external fluid supply for transfer of fluid to the bladder;
- a proximal end portion comprising a needle aligned with the fluid fill hole of the bladder and that delivers fluid directly into the bladder from the tube through the inner channel of the mating component;
- and
- an intermediate portion disposed between the distal end portion and the proximal end portion, the intermediate portion being directly attached to the mating component.
