Abstract
Provided herein are methods for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and disorders in a subject diagnosed as having suffered a cerebrovascular injury by administering agents that contain or induce the expression of microRNA-126.

A method for the treatment of a cardiovascular disorder or disease in a subject with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who has suffered a stroke, the method comprising administering at least one therapeutically effective amount of exosomes comprising miR-126.
