Abstract
Methods of treating a disease caused by a positive strand RNA virus. The methods include administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of Formula I or Formula II.
Claims3
A method for inhibiting a positive strand RNA virus, the method comprising:
- identify a subject infected with the positive strand RNA virus, and
- administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound of Formula II:
- wherein
- each of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10, independently, is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, halo, nitro, cyano, —ORa, —OC(O)Ra, —C(O)ORa, —NRaRb, —NRaC(O)Rb, or —C(O)NRaRb, each of Ra and Rb, independently, being H, alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, cycloalkyl, or heterocycloalkyl;
- XY, together, is C(R′)(R″)—N or CR′═N+, in which R′ is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, halo, nitro, or cyano, and R″ is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, halo, nitro, cyano, —ORc, or —OC(O)Rc, Rc being H, alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, cycloalkyl, or heterocycloalkyl;
- A is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, or heteroaryl;
- is a single bond or a double bond;
- and
- the positive strand RNA virus is a Zika virus or a Dengue virus.
