Packaging systems including sacrificial composition

A packaging and dental treatment system, comprising:

• a container and a removable cover defining a sealed container with a sealed interior volume;
• a first region in which a dental composition is positioned, the dental composition comprising at least one volatile material or gas-releasing component at a first concentration;
• and
• a second region in which a sacrificial composition is positioned, the sacrificial composition including the at least one volatile material or gas-releasing component at a second concentration higher than the first concentration, with the proviso that where the dental composition is an adhesive, the sacrificial composition omits or includes a lesser amount of adhesive monomer than the dental composition.

A packaging and dental treatment system, comprising:

• a container and a removable cover defining a sealed container with a sealed interior volume;
• a dental treatment composition positioned in the sealed interior volume, the dental composition comprising at least one volatile material or gas-releasing component;
• and
• a sacrificial composition separate from and in fluid communication with the dental composition, the sacrificial composition having at least one of:
• a greater amount of the at least one volatile material or gas-releasing component than the dental treatment composition;
• or
• a greater rate of vaporization or gas-release of the at least one volatile material or gas-releasing component than the dental treatment composition.
