Abstract
Controlled release biodegrading microcapsules comprising polypeptide chains.
Claims22
Microcapsules having a shell wall comprising urethane and/or urea linkages and isocyanate and/or bis- or poly-chloroformate segments and polypeptide segments, the polypeptide segments having an average molecular weight of from at least 1000 Da to less than 10,000 Da and the weight ratio of the isocyanate and/or bis- or poly-chloroformate segments to the polypeptide segments being from 100:1 to 1:100.
Microcapsules whose shell wall comprises the reaction product of polypeptides having an average molecular weight of from at least 1000 Da to less than 10,000 Da with isocyanates and/or bis- or poly-chloroformates, wherein the weight ratio of the isocyanate and/or bis or poly-chloroformate reactants to the polypeptides reactants is from 100:1 to 1:100.
