Electrospray vortical flow exchanger

A method for operating a dehumidification device, the method comprising:

• receiving input air including vapor molecules and moving the received input air in an air rotating vortex;
• and
• releasing a charged liquid droplet into the air rotating vortex to cause the charged liquid droplet to attract at least one vapor molecule, such that the at least one vapor molecule attaches to the charged liquid droplet and separates from the input air to generate output air having a first humidity that is less than a second humidity of the input air,
• wherein the charged liquid droplet with the attached vapor molecule condenses and collects as liquid, and wherein the liquid is recirculated to be charged and released into the air rotating vortex,
• wherein the charged liquid droplet is generated from input liquid using a high-voltage electrode, and
• wherein the high-voltage electrode is surrounded by and enveloped in an input gas.

A dehumidification device comprising:

• a spray chamber having sidewalls that define a plurality of apertures, each aperture configured to receive a spray nozzle that protrudes into the spray chamber, each spray nozzle configured to release a plurality of charged liquid droplets into input air, wherein the input air includes vapor molecules, within interior of the spray chamber to cause each of the plurality of charged liquid droplets to attract at least one vapor molecule from the input air, such that the at least one vapor molecule attaches to the charged liquid droplets and separates from the input air to generate output air, wherein at least one of (i) a first humidity of the output air is less than a second humidity of the input air and (ii) a first temperature of the output air is less than a second temperature of the input air;
• wherein the spray nozzles are an electrospray device;
• wherein each spray nozzle includes a high-voltage electrode configured to charge a plurality of liquid droplets to generate the charged liquid droplets;
• wherein each spray nozzle defines a hollow interior configured to receive input liquid including the plurality of liquid droplets,
• wherein each spray nozzle is surrounded by an input gas.
