Autoinjector

An auto-injector comprising:

• a case adapted to hold a syringe containing a liquid medicament, a stopper being arranged for sealing the syringe proximally and for displacing the liquid medicament through a needle arranged or received at a distal end of the syringe;
• and
• a needle shroud telescoped within the case and movable between an extended position and a retracted position, the needle shroud biased relative to the case toward the extended position by a control spring, wherein the syringe is held in a syringe carrier, and the syringe carrier is slidably arranged within the case;
• wherein the syringe carrier comprises a distal portion adapted to hold the syringe and a proximal portion adapted to retain a plunger,
• wherein the auto-injector is configured such that the needle shroud is moved towards the extended position relative to the syringe carrier by the control spring, and
• wherein the control spring is proximally grounded in the case by direct physical contact to the case.
