A compound according to the formula:

• wherein
• L1a is C2 alkyl substituted with Lx6;
• Lx6 is selected from a linker to a reactive functional group and a linker to a targeting moiety;
• L1b, L1c are each C(O);
• L2d and L2e are independently selected from a bond, C(O), substituted or unsubstituted alkyl and substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl;
• L2a and L2c are independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted C2, C3 and C4 alkyl;
• L2b is selected from unsubstituted C2, C3, C4 and C5 alkyl;
• L2f and L2g are independently selected from a bond, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl and substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl;
• RL1, RL2, RL3, and RL4 are independently selected from H, substituted and unsubstituted alkyl and substituted and unsubstituted heteroalkyl;
• and
• Ap1 and Ap2 are independently selected pendant chelating moieties.
