Abstract
The invention provides a combination comprising zidovudine or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof and an antimicrobial compound selected from nitrofurantoin, mecillinam, fosfomycin, cephalexin and faropenem, or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or prodrug thereof. These combinations are particularly useful for the treatment of microbial infections.

A composition comprising zidovudine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate thereof and an antimicrobial compound selected from the group consisting of nitrofurantoin, mecillinam, fosfomycin, cephalexin and faropenem, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate or prodrug thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising zidovudine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate thereof in combination with an antimicrobial compound selected from the group consisting of nitrofurantoin, mecillinam, fosfomycin, cephalexin and faropenem or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate or prodrug thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant, diluent or carrier.
A product comprising zidovudine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate thereof and an antimicrobial compound selected from the group consisting of nitrofurantoin, mecillinam, fosfomycin, cephalexin and faropenem or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate or prodrug thereof.
