System, method, and apparatus for temperature asymmetry measurement of body parts

A system for identifying a health disorder based on a temperature asymmetry estimation, the system comprising:

• an imaging device having:
• a thermal camera configured to detect thermal images corresponding to an inspected body part and a reference or contralateral body part,
• an optical camera configured to detect optical images corresponding to the inspected body part and the reference or contralateral body part, and
• an imaging input/output port configured to transmit the thermal images and the optical images;
• a mobile device:
• having a mobile input/output port configured to be physically and logically coupled to the imaging input/output port of the imaging device such that logical coupling between the mobile input/output port and the imaging input/output port causes the mobile device to be in electrical communication with the imaging device and such that the physical coupling between the mobile input/output port and the imaging input/output port maintains a constant position of the mobile device relative to the imaging device,
• being remote from the imaging device, and
• being configured to receive the optical images and the thermal images from the imaging input/output port of the imaging device and to transmit the optical images and the thermal images;
• a base unit configured to be mechanically coupled to the imaging device and the mobile device;
• a diagnostic processor remote from the imaging device and configured to:
• receive or determine an estimated temperature disparity map between the inspected body part and the reference or contralateral body part based on both of the thermal images and the optical images,
• compare the temperature disparity map to a medically-based threshold, and
• identify that a functional disorder or inflammation of the inspected body part has occurred in response to a value of the temperature disparity map being greater than the threshold for the inspected body part;
• and
• an output device coupled to the diagnostic processor and configured to output data corresponding to the functional disorder or inflammation of the inspected body part.

A method for identifying a health disorder based on a temperature asymmetry estimation, the method comprising:

• mechanically coupling an imaging device and a mobile device to a base unit;
• physically and logically coupling a mobile input/output port of the mobile device to an imaging input/output port of the imaging device such that logical coupling between the mobile input/output port and the imaging input/output port causes the mobile device to be in electrical communication with the imaging device and such that the physical coupling between the mobile input/output port and the imaging input/output port maintains a constant position of the mobile device relative to the imaging device;
• detecting, by a thermal camera of the imaging device, thermal images corresponding to an inspected body part and a reference or contralateral body part;
• detecting, by an optical camera of at least one of the mobile device or the imaging device, optical images corresponding to the inspected body part and the reference or contralateral body part;
• receiving, by the mobile device that is in electrical communication with the imaging device, the thermal images and the optical images;
• transmitting, by the mobile device, the thermal images and the optical images to a server;
• receiving or determining, by a diagnostic processor of the server, an estimated temperature disparity map between the inspected body part and the reference or contralateral body part based on both of the thermal images and the optical images;
• comparing, by the diagnostic processor, the temperature disparity map to a medically-based threshold;
• identifying, by the diagnostic processor of the server, that a functional disorder or inflammation of the inspected body part has occurred in response to a value of the temperature disparity map being greater than the threshold for the inspected body part;
• and
• outputting, by an output device, output data corresponding to the functional disorder or inflammation of the inspected body part.
