Abstract
A virtual surgical robot being built from kinematic data is rendered to a display. A user input is received to effect a movement or a configuration of the virtual surgical robot. The kinematic data is modified based on evaluation of the movement or the configuration of the virtual surgical robot.
Claims20
A method for development of a surgical robot, comprising:
- rendering a virtual surgical robot being built from kinematic data associated with a robotic arm of the surgical robot to a display, wherein the kinematic data defines 1) movement of the robotic arm and 2) geometry of the robotic arm comprising links and joints;
- moving the virtual surgical robot based on a control algorithm and a user input;
- and
- revising, based on an evaluation of the moving of the virtual surgical robot,
- the kinematic data from which the virtual surgical robot is built by adjusting the geometry, wherein the revised kinematic data is to be used to increase or decrease reach or access of the robotic arm, or
- the control algorithm used to move the virtual surgical robot.

A system for development of a surgical robot, comprising one or more processors, configured to perform the following:
- rendering a virtual surgical robot being built from kinematic data associated with a robotic arm of the surgical robot to a display, wherein the kinematic data defines 1) movement of the robotic arm and 2) geometry of the robotic arm comprising links and joints;
- moving the virtual surgical robot based on a control algorithm and a user input;
- and
- revising, based on an evaluation of the moving of the virtual surgical robot,
- the kinematic data from which the virtual surgical robot is built by adjusting the geometry, wherein the revised kinematic data is to be used to increase or decrease reach or access of the robotic arm, or
- the control algorithm used to move the virtual surgical robot.
