Channelized inflatable bodies and methods for making the same

A method of creating multiple mattress cores for inflatable mattresses, comprising:

• creating a rule die configured to cut a unitary mattress core from a single slab of core material;
• cutting at least a first unitary mattress core from the single slab of core material with the rule die, the first unitary mattress core including a first root portion and a first plurality of ribs extending laterally from the first root portion;
• positioning the rule die next to the first unitary mattress core;
• cutting a second unitary mattress core from the single slab of core material with the rule die, the second unitary mattress core including a second root portion and a second plurality of ribs extending laterally from the second root portion;
• and
• separating the first unitary mattress core from the second unitary mattress core, wherein after the first unitary mattress core is separated from the second unitary mattress core, a plurality of first channels are formed, each first channel being formed between adjacent ribs among the first plurality of ribs when some of the second plurality of ribs are removed, and a plurality of second channels are formed, each second channel being formed between adjacent ribs among the second plurality of ribs when some of the first plurality of ribs are removed.
