Abstract
The touch sensor includes a touch detection area with at least a part of a curved area having a curved edge. In the touch detection area, a plurality of first electrodes and second electrodes disposed side by side in a first direction and in a second direction are disposed. A plurality of first electrodes disposed side by side in the first direction are connected to each other. A plurality of second electrodes disposed side by side in the second direction are connected to each other. In the curved area, distances between the plurality of first electrodes and the second electrodes in the first direction gradually change in the second direction.

A touch sensor comprising:
- a touch detection area including a first area, a second area, and a curved area,
- wherein the touch detection area extends in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction,
- the curved area is an area surrounded by a curved corner line of the touch detection area, a line drawn in the first direction from an end of the curved corner line, and another line drawn in the second direction from another end of the curved corner line,
- the first area is a rectangular area adjacent to the curved area in the first direction,
- the second area is a rectangular area adjacent to the first area in the second direction,
- a plurality of first electrodes arranged side by side in the first direction are connected to each other,
- a plurality of second electrodes arranged side by side in the second direction are connected to each other,

- the second electrode in the first area has a first edge farthest from the second area and a second edge closest to the second area, and
- a direction of a line drawn from the second edge to the first edge is tilted toward a centerline of the first area extending in the second direction.
A display apparatus having a touch sensor comprising:
- a display device in which a light emitting element and a plurality of pixels having transistors are arranged in a matrix shape;
- and
- the touch sensor being overlapped with the display device in a plan view;
- wherein the touch sensor comprises a touch detection area including a first area, second area, and a curved area,
- the touch detection area extends in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction,
- the curved area is an area surrounded by a curved corner line of the touch detection area, a line drawn in the first direction from an end of the curved corner line, and another line drawn in the second direction from another end of the curved corner line,
- the first area is a rectangular area adjacent to the curved area in the first direction,
