Trypsin isoforms and their use

A composition comprising at least one isolated cod trypsin ZT isoform comprising an amino acid sequence according to SEQ ID NO:

• 2, or an amino acid sequence with 99% sequence homology or more thereof, together with suitable excipients and carriers, wherein the composition:
• a) is in a medical device;
• and/or
• b) comprises a polyvalent alcohol or polyol;
• and/or
• c) is an ointment, gel, cream, lotion, hydrogel or suppository composition:
• or
• d) is formulated for oral administration in the form of a tablet, a capsule, a lozenge, a troche, a powder or chewing gum;
• or
• e) is formulated for topical administration as a mouth or nasal spray.
