Abstract
Doorbells often include a button to enable visitors to ring a chime to summon building occupants. In some embodiments, doorbells include a camera to take pictures of visitors. In several embodiments, doorbells include covers that are light filters. These light filters can cover infrared light sources such as infrared light emitting diodes. The light filters can pass infrared light while blocking visible light. In several embodiments, a front portion of a camera assembly fits through a hole in a light filter. Light filters can help secure camera assemblies and can form a portion of a doorbell's outer housing.

A security system, comprising:
- a hub device;
- a doorbell communicatively coupled to the hub device, the doorbell comprising a first camera, a first microphone, a first speaker, a first motion detector, and a button configured to initiate a communication that triggers a notification;
- a second device communicatively coupled to the hub device, the second device comprising a second camera, a second microphone, a second speaker, and a second motion detector;
- a third device communicatively coupled to the hub device, the third device comprising a third camera, a third microphone, a third speaker, and a third motion detector;
- and
- a mobile application configured to run on a remote computing device, the mobile application communicatively coupled to a device selected from the group including the hub device, the doorbell, the second device, the third device, and combinations thereof, wherein the mobile application is configured to receive and display the notification,
- wherein the doorbell comprises a communication module having an antenna and a communication processor configured to enable communication with the mobile application, wherein the doorbell is configured to operate in a shipping mode, a sleep mode, and an alert mode,
- wherein in the shipping mode, a first apparatus selected from the group including the first camera, the first speaker, the first microphone, the first motion detector, the communication module, and combinations thereof are inactive,
- wherein in the sleep mode, a second apparatus selected from the group including the first camera, the first microphone, the first motion detector, the communication module, and combinations thereof are active, and
- wherein in the alert mode, a third apparatus selected from the group including the first camera, the first speaker, the first microphone, the first motion detector, the communication module, and combinations thereof are active.
A security system, comprising:
- a hub device;
- a doorbell communicatively coupled to the hub device, the doorbell comprising a first camera, a first microphone, a first speaker, a first motion detector, and a button configured to initiate a communication that triggers a notification, wherein the first camera is configured to capture a video within a first field of view;
- a second device communicatively coupled to the hub device, the second device comprising a second camera, a second microphone, a second speaker, and a second motion detector, wherein the second camera is configured to capture a video within a second field of view;
- a third device communicatively coupled to the hub device, the third device comprising a third camera, a third microphone, a third speaker, and a third motion detector, wherein the third camera is configured to capture a video within a third field of view;
- and
- a mobile application configured to run on a remote computing device, the mobile application communicatively coupled to a device selected from the group including the hub device, the doorbell, the second device, the third device, and combinations thereof,
- wherein the mobile application is configured to receive and display the notification, and wherein the mobile application is configured to enable a user of the security system to determine a first detection zone within the first field of view, a second detection zone within the second field of view, and a third detection zone within the third field of view.
