Abstract
Embodiments of methods and systems related to operating a mobile asset are provided. In one example, a method for operating a mobile asset includes adjusting a fuel combustion ratio of a plurality of mobile assets based on an emission type exceeding a corresponding threshold, wherein the fuel combustion ratio includes a plurality of fuel types.

A method, comprising:
- adjusting a fuel combustion ratio of a plurality of mobile assets based on a reductant demanded of an aftertreatment device and an emission type exceeding a corresponding threshold, wherein the fuel combustion ratio includes a plurality of fuel types;
- wherein the fuel ratio is based on amounts of different fuels being delivered to the multi-fuel engine, and wherein the mobile asset comprises separate storage for each of the plurality of fuels;
- determining a fuel availability of a fuel type in a geofenced location;
- determining a total emission value for each of a plurality of emission types;
- adjusting a fuel combustion ratio of one or more of the plurality of mobile assets in response to one or more of the fuel availability and the total emission value;
- receiving feedback from a fuel optimizing unit, the fuel optimizing unit monitoring a sensed engine emission level, a fuel usage level, a quantity of fuel used for travel, a remaining quantity of fuel, an engine power output, an engine load, an engine speed, a fuel cost, and a fuel injection profile.

A method for a plurality of mobile assets each comprising a multi-fuel engine, the method comprising:
- determining a fuel availability of a fuel type in a geofenced location;
- determining a total emission value for each of a plurality of emission types;
- adjusting a fuel combustion ratio of one or more of the plurality of mobile assets in response to one or more of the fuel availability and the total emission value;
- updating a refueling plan in response to the adjusted fuel combustion ratio, the refueling plan generated based on one or more of a route information, a fuel market information, and a mobile asset operation information, wherein updating the refueling plan comprises selecting a new refueling station based on a fuel availability onboard the mobile asset, a fuel availability at a fuel station, a fuel consumption, and a fuel price of a fuel consumed by the engine;
- wherein the fuel ratio is based on amounts of different fuels being delivered to the multi-fuel engine, and wherein the mobile asset comprises separate storage for each of the plurality of fuels;
- receiving feedback from a fuel optimizing unit, the fuel optimizing unit monitoring a sensed engine emission level, a fuel usage level, a quantity of fuel used for travel, a remaining quantity of fuel, an engine power output, an engine load, an engine speed, a fuel cost, and a fuel injection profile.

A method for operating a mobile asset comprising a multifuel engine, the method comprising:
- operating the mobile asset with a plurality of fuels;
- and adjusting a fuel ratio of the plurality of fuels based on types of emissions in a geofenced area in which the mobile asset is operating within an availability of fuels in the geofenced area, an operating cost associated with combustion of the plurality of fuels, and an availability of one or more of the plurality of fuels in the geofenced area;
- wherein the fuel ratio is based on amounts of different fuels being delivered to the multi-fuel engine, and wherein the mobile asset comprises separate storage for each of the plurality of fuels;
- receiving feedback from a fuel optimizing unit, the fuel optimizing unit monitoring a sensed engine emission level, a fuel usage level, a quantity of fuel used for travel, a remaining quantity of fuel, an engine power output, an engine load, an engine speed, a fuel cost, and a fuel injection profile.
