## Abstract

An agitator deployable in a wellbore includes a housing including a central axis and a central passage, a valve including a first valve body having a first contact face and a second valve body permitted to rotate relative to the first valve body and having a second contact face configured to contact the first contact face, a first valve adapter including a first receptacle which receives at least a portion of the first valve body to couple the first valve adapter to the first valve body, and a flexible valve configured to permit the first valve body to flex relative to the first valve adapter whereby an angular misalignment may form between a central axis of the first valve body and a central axis of the first valve adapter.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An agitator deployable in a wellbore, comprising:
a housing comprising a central axis and a central passage;
a valve disposed in the housing and comprising a first valve body having a first contact face and a second valve body permitted to rotate relative to the first valve body and having a second contact face configured to contact the first contact face;
a first valve adapter coupled to the housing and which comprises a first receptacle which receives at least a portion of the first valve body to couple the first valve adapter to the first valve body; and
a flexible valve seat positioned in the first receptacle of the first valve adapter between the first valve body and the first valve adapter and wherein the flexible valve seat is configured to permit the first valve body to flex relative to the first valve adapter whereby an angular misalignment forms between a central axis of the first valve body and a central axis of the first valve adapter.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat is configured to permit a maximum angular misalignment between the central axis of the first valve body and the central axis of the first valve adapter that is between 0.01° and 5.00°.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat is configured to permit a maximum angular misalignment between the central axis of the first valve body and the central axis of the first valve adapter that is between 2.00° and 4.00°.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, further comprising:
a stator positioned in the housing; and
a rotor rotatably positioned in the stator and connected to one of the first valve body and the second valve body.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat comprises a mechanical biasing member configured to apply a biasing force to the first valve body.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat is formed from an elastomeric material.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat is formed from a material having a durometer rating on the Shore A Hardness scale between 40 and 120.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat seals the connection formed between the first valve body and the first valve adapter.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The agitator of claim 1, wherein the flexible valve seat comprises a body formed from a first material having a first hardness and a spacer ring embedded in the body that is formed from a second material having a second hardness that is greater than the first hardness.

### Claim 10

An agitator deployable in a wellbore, comprising:
a housing comprising a central axis and a central passage;
a valve disposed in the housing and comprising a first valve body having a first contact face and a second valve body permitted to rotate relative to the first valve body and having a second contact face configured to contact the first contact face;
a first valve adapter coupled to the housing and which comprises a first receptacle which receives at least a portion of the first valve body to couple the first valve adapter to the first valve body; and
a flexible valve seat positioned in the first receptacle of the first valve adapter between the first valve body and the first valve adapter and wherein the flexible valve seat is formed from a material having a durometer rating on the Shore A Hardness scale between 40 and 120 whereby the flexible valve seat is configured to permit the first valve body to flex relative to the first valve adapter such that an angular misalignment forms between a central axis of the first valve body and a central axis of the first valve adapter.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The agitator of claim 10, wherein the material from which the flexible valve seat is formed has a durometer rating on the Shore A Hardness scale between 70 and 90.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The agitator of claim 10, further comprising:
a stator positioned in the housing; and
a rotor rotatably positioned in the stator and connected to one of the first valve body and the second valve body.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)
