Abstract
A felt gripper head contains two regions of felt material each on plates that slide and form a slight angle with respect to each other during engagement with a fibrous substrate material.
Claims7
A material feeder for feeding sheets of substrate material into a powder-based 3D-printing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) a carriage;
- (b) a felt gripper head suspended inside the carriage, the felt gripper head comprising:
- i. a first plate comprising a first region of felt, and
- ii. a second plate comprising a second region of felt,
- wherein the first plate and the second plate connect to one another through a bridged hinged separation.
