Method and device for signaling information related to slice in image/video encoding/decoding system

A video encoding apparatus comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor connected to the memory, the at least one processor configured to:
• derive slices within a tile of a current picture;
• generate predictions samples by performing prediction on a current block based on one of the derived slices;
• generate residual information based on the prediction samples and an original picture;
• generate number information related to a number of explicit slices each having its height explicitly signaled within the tile and height information related to heights of the explicit slices each having its height explicitly signaled based on the derived slices;
• and
• encode image information to generate a bitstream, wherein the image information includes the residual information, the number information, and the height information,
• wherein a number of syntax elements in the height information is equal to the number of the explicit slices specified by the number information,
• wherein, based on the number of the explicit slices being equal to n, the syntax elements in the height information indicate heights of a 0-th slice to an (n−1)-th slice within the tile,
• wherein a height of an n-th slice within the tile is represented based on the height of the (n−1)-th slice, and
• wherein a height of a last slice within the tile is represented based on a remaining height after subtracting the heights of other slices within the tile from a height of the tile.

An apparatus for transmitting data for a video, the apparatus comprising:

• at least one processor configured to obtain a bitstream for the video, wherein the bitstream is generated based on deriving slices within a tile of a current picture, generating prediction samples by performing prediction on a current block based on one of the derived slices, generating residual information based on the prediction samples, generating number information related to a number of explicit slices each having its height explicitly signaled within the tile and height information related to heights of the explicit slices each having its height explicitly signaled, and encoding image information including the residual information, the number information, and the height information;
• and
• a transmitter configured to transmit the data comprising the bitstream,
• wherein a number of syntax elements in the height information is equal to the number of the explicit slices specified by the number information,
• wherein, based on the number of the explicit slices being equal to n, the syntax elements in the height information indicate heights of a 0-th slice to an (n−1)-th slice within the tile,
• wherein a height of an n-th slice within the tile is represented based on the height of the (n−1)-th slice, and
• wherein a height of a last slice within the tile is represented based on a remaining height after subtracting the heights of other slices within the tile from a height of the tile.
