Abstract
A video coding device may be configured to perform transform data coding according to one or more of the techniques described herein.
Claims4
A method of encoding transform data for video coding based on intra prediction techniques, the method comprising:
- determining a condition based on parameters being associated with a coding unit;
- and
- signaling a coding unit level index syntax element indicating (a) whether a secondary transform is applied and (b) which matrix for the secondary transform is used, based on the condition;
- inferring the coding unit level index syntax element to be equal to 0, which indicates that the secondary transform is not applied,
- wherein the condition includes at least (a) the coding unit being not larger than predefined size, and (b) the coding unit being greater than or equal to 16×16.

A method of decoding transform data for video coding based on intra prediction techniques, the method comprising:
- determining a condition being associated with a coding unit;
- and
- parsing a coding unit level index syntax element indicating (a) whether a secondary transform is applied and (b) which matrix for the secondary transform is used, based on the condition;
- inferring the coding unit level index syntax element to be equal to 0, which indicates that the secondary transform is not applied,
- wherein the condition includes at least (a) the coding unit being not larger than predefined size, and (b) the coding unit being greater than or equal to 16×16.

A device comprising one or more processors configured to:
- determine a condition being associated with a coding unit;
- and
- parse a coding unit level index syntax element indicating (a) whether a secondary transform is applied and (b) which matrix for the secondary transform is used, based on the condition;
- inferring the coding unit level index syntax element to be equal to 0, which indicates that the secondary transform is not applied,
- wherein the condition includes at least (a) the coding unit being not larger than predefined size, and (b) the coding unit being greater than or equal to 16×16.
