Abstract
An example apparatus includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to cause transmission of media, received from a service provider, to a media device in response to a first request for the media, the media including instructions to cause the media device to determine a source Uniform Resource Locator and transmit a second request for metadata of the media to the apparatus, and cause transmission, to the media device in response to the second request, of metadata associated with the source Uniform Resource Locator.
Claims21
An audience measurement computing system to measure exposure to streaming media, the audience measurement computing system comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory including computer readable instructions that, upon execution by the at least one processor, cause the audience measurement computing system to:
- cause a first transmission including streaming media, received from a service provider, to a media device in response to a first request for the streaming media, the streaming media including monitoring instructions, to cause the media device to determine a source Uniform Resource Locator and transmit a second request for metadata of the streaming media to the audience measurement computing system, wherein the monitoring instructions are accessed by the media device via a webpage;
- and
- cause transmission, to the media device in response to the second request, of metadata associated with the source Uniform Resource Locator.
A method of measuring exposure to streaming media, the method comprising:
- transmitting media, received from a service provider, to a media device in response to a first request for the media, the media including monitoring instructions to cause the media device to determine a source Uniform Resource Locator and transmit a second request for metadata of the media, wherein the monitoring instructions are accessed by the media device via a webpage;
- and
- transmitting, to the media device in response to the second request, metadata associated with the source Uniform Resource Locator.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a computing system to at least:
- transmit media, received from a service provider, to a media device in response to a first request for the media, the media including monitoring instructions to cause the media device to determine a source Uniform Resource Locator and transmit a second request for metadata of the media, wherein the monitoring instructions are accessed by the media device via a webpage;
- and
- transmit, to the media device in response to the second request, metadata associated with the source Uniform Resource Locator.
